Overview

What is SkillBridge? A Department of Defense (DoD) program that provides transitioning service members with civilian work experience through a corporate fellowship during the last 180 days of service. Participants are embedded in companies where they continue to receive their military compensation and benefits, while industry partners provide the training, work experience, and tools for landing employment. Ideally, transitioning service members join their host companies full-time upon their transition from the military.

What is Google SkillBridge? We partner with Hiring Our Heroes (HoH) and follow their 12-week-long corporate fellowship model (11 weeks at the host company and 1 week onboarding with HoH). We provide Fellows with business-aligned project work across various PAs, the opportunity to complete Google Career Certificates, and various professional development sessions. We run three cohort cycles over the course of a year (Jan-March, May-July, August-November). We do not take any “off cycle” fellowships and stay firmly on the HoH cycles.

Eligibility

Active duty military members who are within their last 180 days of service and have their chain of command approval are eligible to apply directly to the HoH corporate fellowship program. From there, candidates get access to company applications. The Google SkillBridge program houses their application within the HoH system and candidates can apply directly when it is open.
