Overview

Google is hosting their second Product Inclusion & Equity Summit on April 10-11th, 2025 in Sunnyvale, CA. The summit will bring together students and professionals from across industries and areas of study who are committed to creating products that are inclusive and equitable for everyone.

The Product Inclusion & Equity Summit is a multi-day experience where students and professionals will learn from experts and leaders across various industries on how to build with equity at the forefront.

Day 1: Students will learn from leading experts and professionals about inclusive design’s importance and practical application.

Day 2: Students will team up with their peers on the student-only day for an interactive, hands-on project that puts inclusive design principles to the test.

Eligibility

A current undergraduate student at a 2 year or 4 year college / university or a graduate student
A legal resident of, and physically located in, the 50 United States or the District of Columbia
Must be 18 years or older

Prizes

Up to 50 winners will be awarded attendance to the Product Inclusion & Equity Summit on April 10-11th, 2025. Travel expenses (transportation and accommodation) and breakfast and lunch during summit days will be covered by Google.

Application Process

Students who are interested in applying will be asked to complete an online application process which includes:

General background information (e.g. contact information and details about your current university)
Written responses to (2) essay prompts

Recipients will be selected based on demonstration of leadership skills via academic, extracurricular activities, or employment, understanding of and passion for equity and inclusion issues in tech or other industries, and actionable steps taken to promote equity in their personal life, community, and/or chosen field. What is Product Inclusion & Equity?

Product inclusion and equity is the ongoing work of building belonging through our products, by centering the most marginalized voices at every phase of product creation. We at Google are still at the beginning of this journey, and as we continue on it, we’re sharing what we’ve learned to help drive progress in our industry and beyond. What should I expect from the Product Inclusion & Equity Summit?

Day 1: On the second day of the summit, students will have the chance to learn from experts and professionals on the importance and process of inclusive design. We will have workshops, presentations, interactive elements and opportunities to connect with fellow attendees.
Day 2: On the last day of the summit, students will work in a collaborative fashion and engage in student-focused, interactive activities by putting their new skills to the test by working on hands-on projects.

When will the Product Inclusion & Equity Summit take place?

The Summit will take place April 10-11, 2025 in Sunnyvale, CA.

When will I find out if I’ve been selected?

We will review all applications after the application closes on November 10, 2024. Selected applicants will undergo a background screening process. Please note, if you are selected to attend the summit, we will ask for an unofficial transcript to verify your eligibility. We’ll be reaching out to all students to notify them of our decision by the third week of January 2025.

If I won the student essay contest and attended the summit, can I reapply and win again?

Unfortunately, previous winners that attended the PI&E Summit last year are not eligible to win and attend the summit again.
